Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Iwouldn’t exactly say I ate a lot of fruits and vegetables this past week. But I think that’s a story for tomorrow.
Visit 24 {new} Bakeries / Coffee Shops
No new bakeries this past week and quite honestly, I am a bit surprised at myself that I am lagging behind on this goal as it was probably the one I was most looking forward to checking off my list early.
All in good time though, right? But also add to the fact that I am a bit of a pastry snob and have no problem walking out of a coffee/pastry shop if their treats look like they were a Sysco food service item. Pastries. I have standards.
New Bakeries / Coffee Shops I’ve Been To This Year:
- Ritual Bakehouse and Patisserie
- Caramel Patisserie
- Standard Baking Co.
- Saltwater Farm Cafe
- Coffee Roasters of the Kennebunks
Go On An Adventure
I am headed on a mini adventure soon! Not the one that involves the special box that arrived last month but a mini holiday nonetheless. Iβll tell you more about it soon.
Contribute to 12 Free Little Libraries. {3 town down, 9 to go}
I didnβt contribute to any free little libraries this week nor did I pick up any new books at the library sale. I was too busy with a secret project I’ve been working on and had to stay on task.
Towns I’ve donated books to:
- Gardiner, Maine
- Nobleboro, Maine
- Kennebunk and Kennebunkport
Tidy Up / Clean Out / Purge DONE
Every single room I wanted to go through and purge the unnecessary items from and all the areas that I wanted to clean⦠Has been done! Mission spring cleaning has been accomplished.
- Barn
- Garage
- Closets
- Dresser drawers
- Kitchen
- Sideboard
- DVD collection
Read or Listen to 24 Books {7 down, 17 to go}
No new books this past week. I’m still waiting for Crying in H Mart.
Books I’ve Read or Listened To This Year:
- Grateful American: A Journey from Self to Service by Gary Sinise. 10/10
- Elizabeth The Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch by Sally Bedell Smith 9/10
- Wait Till Next Year by Dorris Kearns Goodwin 8/10
- George VI and Elizabet:by Sally Bedell Smith 9/10
- Steve Jobs by Walter Issacson 9/10
- These Precious Days by Ann Pachett 9.5/10
- Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson
Spend More Time At The Beach
It was a great week for walking on the beach. Lucy hunted for mini crunchy crabs and I found 3 heart shaped rocks. Fact: Walking on the beach has a calming effect.
Paint
I finally finished “Goldfish” by Henri Matisse. And I’m still not crazy about it. I think it’s all the orange and yellows that is throwing me off. I told the HH I was going to toss it and he told me not to. He said it would look good in a greenhouse.
Then I reminded him that we DON’T HAVE A GREENHOUSE and he still said I should keep it. Maybe he knows something I don’t? We’ll see.
So far I’ve finished:
- Portrait of Joseph Roulin
- Red Boats at Argenteuil
- Regattas at Argenteuil
- Vase with Cornflowers and Poppies
- Sunflowers
- Garden Path with Chickens
In Stock and Ready to Ship by March 15th/ March 30th Now April 15th DONE!
I finally finished up all the major wool dyeing and pattern/kit making I had hoped too. All the βextraβ wool is tucked away in bins so if I run out of wool in my Etsy shop I can whip up some more bundles in a jiffy. A summer off from dyeing woolβ¦ Itβs going to be pretty rad.
Hook 6 βBigβ Rugs.
I just started a new {small} design. Hoping to have it finished by the end of the week.
Large Rugs I’ve Hooked This Year
- Three Roosters
- Hidden In The Garden
- Yankee Doodle
Visit 6 Greenhouses {that Iβve never been to before}.
No visits to any greenhouses this past week, but I already know which one I want to go to first.
Grow Baby Grow
I spotted a bunch of daffodils in someoneβs yard the other day and now I canβt stop thinking about them! I adore this variety and am looking forward to placing my bulb order in another month or two.
Donate to 12 Different Organizations in Maine
We went to the mall the other day {for the first time in forever} and theyβve got prom dresses in stock!!! The HH patiently waited while I went up and down the aisles to see if there was anything I NEEDED.
I LOVE prom dresses. I went to all the dances in high school and I just think they {the dresses} are magical. Iβd have a whole closet full of them if it wouldnβt be such a weird thing. And if I had somewhere to wear them.
Isnβt there an organization that allows girls to shop for donated dresses for free? Maybe I could swoop some up when they go on clearance and donate them somewhere. Anyone know?
So Far This Year I’ve Donated To:
- New Hope MidCoast {50 pairs of new socks}
- Humane Society {180 trays of cat food}
- Travil Mills Foundation
*I still need to Drop off the art supplies to Camp Sunshine
So how are YOUR goals for 2024 coming along? Iβd love to hear about them.
