why are kettlebell workout routines so effective?

When I was younger, I did a lot of training with weights. While this gave me the desired result in strength and appearance, the affect on my joints in the later years was negative. Some of these injuries are haunting me to this day.

I wish I knew then about a fantastic alternative to lifting weights – the kettlebells. I personally use kettlebell workout routines for safe, quick, full body workouts that do not strain my joints or lead to other potential injuries that are prevalent to conventional weightlifting.

The kettlebells originated in the 16th century Russia. The Russian military are actively training with them to this day, with virtually no reports of injuries. It was not until the 1980’s that the international weightlifting community embraced the “bells”.

Unlike the conventional exercises that lock the body into a linear plane, the kettlebell exercises are ergonomically natural to the body’s range of motion. Benefits that include strength gain, endurance, flexibility and weight loss, all contribute to their effectiveness.

In addition, kettlebell workouts for women and men are awesome for cardio, abs and a full circuit workouts. One of my favorite ways to use them is with a Tabata timer. The workout you get is like nothing you’ve ever experienced with regular weights! For me, it’s the best way to lose fat and gain muscle safely. Make sure to make this a part of your kettlebell workout plan.

As far as minimalism goes, you can replace a whole gym with just a few pairs of kettlebells. Forget expensive aerobic machines and dozens of pairs of dumbbells. While you’re at it, forget your gym membership if you are satisfied with working out alone. Kettlebells are also great for outdoor exercising.

Today, the kettlebells come in a wide range of weight and design. There is a number of premium brands that are both durable and aesthetic. The price tends to be expensive, especially if you add the cost of shipping.

Incidentally, there is a number of kettlebell workout dvd’s and other training aids available that you can obtained from a good fitness retailer. I’ve experimented with several top brands and finally settled on these kettlebells, which to me represent a good balance between price and quality.

Most important, find an enjoyable and versatile routine that you are going to stick with for the long haul and train safely.
